SAT Classes

Full classes are currently offered only at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep. and the International High School (FAIS-IHS).

All others, Please contact me if you are interested in bringing this valuable program to your school or youth group.

Course Description

These comprehensive SAT prep. courses cover all aspects of the exam. The instructor brings to the class eleven years of professional SAT teaching experience.

Students will learn unique and effective ways to raise their scores. Strategies will be developed for writing successful essays, tackling dense reading passages, and solving the most common types of math problems.

Students will be provided with the hands-on Insight SAT Workbook, with over a hundred colorful pages analyzing every part of the exam. Students receive individual feedback on their essays and projected SAT scores at the beginning and end of the course.

Topics covered in the workbook include

• Dave’s Lexicon -- Creative Vocabulary Lists and Word-Building Activities
• Math Toolbox
• Sentence Completion Strategies
• Top 14 Writing Errors
• Top 20 Math Problem Types: Angles, Triangles, Circles, Algebra, Functions, Probability, Percents, Ratios, Averages, Squares and Rectangles, Exponents, etc.
• Insight Overview of Tricks and Shortcuts
• Estimate & Eliminate: How To Guess

Classroom activities include

• Interactive vocabulary development through word games
• Small group math team studies
• Practice tests from the College Board's own Official Study Guide, demystified and thoroughly explained.
