Dedication

Insight Tutoring is dedicated to helping students improve their grades and test scores, and achieve their academic goals.

All lessons are personally taught by founder, David Freeling, a learning specialist with over eleven years of professional experience in education. I have worked with hundreds of students of all ages, helping kids and adults improve their understanding of fundamental math and English concepts. Sometimes a good explanation or a few key words of insight can make all the difference.

Services

Insight Tutoring works with students all over the San Francisco Bay Area. The core of my business is one-on-one tutorials. Tutoring lessons focus on an individual's needs and address a person's specific questions and concerns. Other services offered include small group classes, and full size test preparation classes.

Results

Training with an expert usually leads to dramatic academic improvement. In 3 classes of 68 total students taught at SHCP in the Spring of 2006, the average SAT test score improved from 1437 on day one to 1567 on day eight of the class, an increase of 130 points per student.

Students who have a weekly tutorial typically maintain a B+ or A- in their math classes, whereas these same students might struggle to get a C on their own. Especially in math, many kids just need that little extra guidance that only individual attention can provide.

Methods

Because every child learns differently, Insight Tutoring provides many different approaches to learning. Visual cues and mnemonic devices (memory aids) make learning fast and fun.

Areas of Instruction

Insight Tutoring instructs students in basic verbal skills such as reading, essay writing and vocabulary building and in all levels of math from arithmetic and algebra to calculus and beyond.

Insight Tutoring specializes in helping students with their school work, and in preparing students for standardized tests such as the SSAT, HSPT, PSAT, SAT, GRE, and GMAT. Insight offers classes that are higher in quality but less costly than its national, “name-brand” competitors.
